One of the oldest established orchestras in the UK – Glasgow Orchestral Society – will be playing at Sherbrooke St Gilbert’s Church in Nithsdale Road, Pollokshields on Saturday 22 May. The 60 strong band of talented musicians will perform Verdi’s Nabucco Overture, Brahms, Violin Concerto, and Tchaikowsky’s 4th Symphony under the baton of Conductor Marco Romano. Founded in 1870, the orchestra is composed of amateur musicians who play at professional level. The concert  starts at 7.30pm with tickets on the door at £10 or £6 concession.
