This year’s Rally of Scotland takes place from 15 – 17 October and will be the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge that includes events in Monte Carlo, Brazil, Italy and Cyprus.

As in 2009, it will be staged on closed Forestry Commission gravel roads in Stirling, Perth and Kinross. These  areas benefitted economically by £1.2 million, from last year’s rally, according to independent research.

This year’s event hopes to build on that success and confirm the status of the Rally of Scotland as one of the UK’s premier motor sport attractions alongside the British Grand Prix and Wales Rally GB. Former Scottish and British Rally Champion Alistair McRae, from Lanark, will contest this, his home event,  in a Proton Satria Neo for the Proton R3 Rally Team.

In order to encourage children to enjoy motorsports and provide a family day out, there will be free entrance to those aged 15 and under. Tickets go on sale from midday on 18 June and are available via www.rallyofscotland.com or by calling 0844 847 2488
