The UK’s only 10k for Men takes place on Father’s Day – Sunday 20 June in Bellahouston Park. And there is JUST! time to sign up. All runners must have entered their names by 5pm on Friday 11 June. See website: www.mhfs10kformen.org.
Among the stars taking part will be the BBC’s Bryan Burnett who has run many marathons and will be commentator for the 10k; Real Radio’s Mark Martin who hosts the night time show and Scots Asian actor Atta Yaqub who played the lead role in the Ken Loach film, Ae Fond Kiss.
Organised by the Men’s Health Forum Scotland (MHFS) the 10k for Men is in its fifth year and is expected to attract 5000 entrants – 2000 more than last year. The event is open to men of all running abilities, aged 15 and over.
Eva Asante, Director of Men’s Health Forum Scotland said: ‘It’s still just possible to sign up to this year’s 10K for Men. We want to encourage as many men as possible to take their first step towards building a healthier lifestyle. Whether a complete novice or a seasoned runner, whether running on your own or as part of a group, the benefits of getting out there and crossing the finishing line are huge. The 10k is a great way to kick off a health regime for the year ahead.’
