There will be no east-west divide this weekend as women from Glasgow will join with their sisters in a capital effort to beat breast cancer.
Women from all over Scotland will come together in Edinburgh on Sunday at the ‘Pedal it Pink’ event to cycle a marathon, half marathon or family 5k lap while raising money for charity.
And if you’ve not yet signed up – yet there is still time!
Catriona Wright, Events Manager at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “We’re thrilled that lots of women are gearing up for Scotland’s very first Pedal it Pink event but we’d love even more women across the country – including Glasgow – to encourage their mothers, sisters and best friends to sign up too.
“The event is not only a good cause but cycling is also great for your general fitness, so please sign up and show your support for the 4,000 women that will sadly be diagnosed with breast cancer in Scotland this year.”
In the UK, nearly 46,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year – that’s 125 a day.
Pedal it Pink are aim to meet the challenge head-on and they already help support 113 research projects across the UK.
If you would like to take part in Pedal it Pink, register on the day from 10am onwards at the event situated in Holyrood Park near Dynamic Earth and Scottish Parliament.
It costs £15 for the marathon, £10 for the half marathon and £5 for the family 5k lap, which is also open to men and children.
