Big hitter: City's Leanne Ross is setting records
Glasgow City’s Leanne Ross topped her memorable eight-goal haul in a 14-0 hammering of Aberdeen by scoring the club’s 1,000th league goal.
While the scoreline fails to match City’s 28-0 drubbing of Motherwell in 2004, the 28-year-old midfielder’s sixth goal is a huge milestone for the club and sends a warning to SWPL rivals that manager Peter Caulfield’s team mean business.
Peter said: ‘A lot of very good players have contributed to this goal total over the years and to reach this milestone so quickly demonstrates the ethos of this club to produce positive attacking football teams.
‘For Leanne Ross to notch the 1000th goal in what was a sensational performance from her on the day was also very fitting.’
