The Jeely Piece Club in Castlemilk is celebrating its 35th year with a funds boost from Inspiring Scotland that will help take youngsters into the great outdoors.
Jeely Piece has been recognised for its innovative child and family-friend initiatives and runs a nursery in Castlemilk Community Centre on Castlemilk Drive and a café at Machrie Drive.
The funding from Inspiring Scotland’s Go Play Fund will enable the Jeely to hire an outdoors team to take the youngsters into the natural environment. The Go Play Fund was started last year with £4m of help from the Scottish Government after research revealed the importance of play to the health and well-being of Scotland’s young people.
