One hundred per cent of residents polled in Maryhill and Ruchill are backing the creation of a neighbourhood watch scheme.
That’s the overwhelming response from the biggest survey yet undertaken by Maryhill Housing Association.
Local people were canvassed on how safe they feel and were asked what could be done to improve their sense of safety.
Bobby Pollock, a Community Development Officer at Maryhill Housing Association, told of how the survey will bring real results for the community.
He said: ‘The findings show there is a real interest in the safety and well-being of the local community from local people, and we intend to act on these findings.’
The survey also showed half of the people asked were affected by community safety issues and 70 per cent would be interested in hearing about local residents groups.
